Welcome recreation enthusiasts to the Central Adirondack region. Explore the map using the navigational tools or plan your outing using the various searches to the right of the map. Choose which data layers to display on the map. Web site links are provided for nearly all businesses located on the map.

Internet Explorer users, you must be running version 7 or newer for all features to work.

TOOLBAR / MOVE THE MAP AROUND

The toolbar above the map contains several buttons.  Position the cursor over a button and its purpose will display.  Click on the button to activate it. A yellow background indicates it is the active button.

Pan/Grabber

click on the hand button, then drag the cursor across the map to reposition it
Zoom in

click on zoom in button, then click on map, map will zoom in a preset amount at that location

Zoom out click on zoom out button, then click on map, map will zoom out a preset amount at that location
Zoom box click on zoom box button, drag cursor over area on map, map will zoom in to that specific area
Zoom to NY  click on zoom to NY button, map zooms back out to all of New York State
Pdf trail details click this button, then click on a trail segment, a .pdf file will open with a description of the trail (note that not all trail segments are part of a predefined loop). You need Adobe Reader running on your computer to use this feature.
Info    click on a trail segment or business symbol in the map and its information will display in the results box
Open/Close Result Pane show or hide the results of a search, note that the result box (or pane) can be moved around and resized
Clear Results clears all selected features from the map (they are highlighted in red)
Measure Distance click on the button to activate, click in the map on the starting point, then double click on the ending point. Or measure multiple line segments by single clicking at the end of each segment, double click when done. The displayed distances and drawn lines will disappear when another button is selected.
Print to PDF creates a .PDF document that can be printed, of the current map view, title can be specified. You must have Adobe Reader running on your computer.
